One of the best museums in Jeju Island. Although I post places in Jeju Island that I liked, this museum is one of the top museum wise. World Automobile Museum may sound unfamiliar because it seems there is absolutely no relation with Jeju Island, this museum is worthwhile visiting and I loved it.

In World Automobile Museum, you can view various cars outside and inside the museum. First of all, inside the museum, there are cars displayed, raging from the first automobile in Korea to sport cars such as lamborghini.

Outside the museum, there is a park with animals like rabbits and roe dears. Cars are also exhibited here. I personally loved the outer part of the museum because I was able to see rabbits walking around near us (they were not afraid of humans) and digging holes like they do in nature. For this reason, I strongly recommend families with children here.

The World Automobile Jeju Museum also provides free mini car ride for adults and children. You are able to choose the car that you want to ride and drive through miniature buildings (Adults or teens are allowed to drive with children sitting next to them). When I visited here, the path was longer than I thought and it didn't just go around in circles, but went around the museum. Children will love this part!

Mazeland is great for family trips! When I visited here, the facilities were all clean and new. I went here with my dog and the employees were all kind to her. This was the part that I was very impressed.  Most tour sights in the island don't permit dogs, but this place was different. I herd that the founder of maze land fed stray cats here in Mazeland and loved animals (one reason why I think all the employees were nice my dog). If you have a dog, I enthusiastically recommend here.

Apart form dogs, the mazes are very well made. It takes at least 1 ~ 2 hours to finish all mazes (there are two in total). If you don't have enough time, I recommend you to walk the stone maze. There is also a museum that has various puzzle games, which is also quite good.

Seongeup Folk Village

[Jeju Tour sights / Cultural -  Folk Village]

Open hours: All year around
Contact info: 064-787-1179 , 064-760-2664
Adress: Seongeup-ri, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju-do
Admission Fee: Free
Language available: English, Japanese, Chinese
Parking facilities: Avaliable

*Pets are allowed in Seongeup Folk Village (collar and pet waste bags required).

How to go to Seongeup Folk Village:

You can take the intercity bus from the intercity bus terminal and get off at Seongeup-ri (성읍리). After you walk about 200m, you will reach here. The bus ride takes about 1hr and 40min, so don't really recommend it. However, the distance is shorter when you ride the Dongilju bus, which takes about 45 minutes (the place where you take off is the same).

Seongeup Folk Village is a great place to not only learn about the Jeju culture, but also Korean culture in general. Unlike most of the folk villages, people live in Seongeup Folk Village, which makes here more special. When you look around, you will see houses with roofs made by straws and dol hareubangs standing. You can also eat the Jeju-traditional food, "Bingtteok" when you visit one of the houses. This place is full of culture. Renting a straw-roofed house is also available, which costs about 40,000 to 80,000.

From what I've heard, Hanwha Aqua Planet is the biggest Aquarium in Asia. They have variety of sea mammals and fishes. I was very intrigued about the whale shark when I visited here (I herd that the aquarium sent the whale back to the ocean). There is also a tunnel made with glass that you go through as shown in the photo below. I strongly recommend this aquarium for people who have children.

The museum shows you the history of teddy bears, specially designed teddy bears, and the smallest teddy bear in the world.

Jinny's comment:
I would  recommend this museum for teddy bear lovers and families who have children. There are many teddy bears in various shapes and postures that are good for taking photos.
