Welcome

Hi everybody!

I’m Hyo Jin (Jinny), a high school student who attends to Branksome Hall Asia. I spent most of my childhood in this rural area, catching sow bugs, eating honey from flowers, and chasing the disinfection cars with school friends (at that time, there were cars that sprayed disinfection around the town). I’ve always had little bundles of joy living in such place.

Because I'm attending an international school, I thought doing something that could share my experience in a helpful way would be a great idea. There were many sites that guided ways to tour Jeju, but I realized that there were no information about Jeju tourism that suited international  travelers. So, I decided to do a continuous survey (paper and internet) about what international travelers really wanted and provide those information on my blog.

The purpose of this blog is to provide useful information about Jeju Island for English speaking international travellers (especially Korean Americans) and international people living in Jeju.

Before I start…

Jeju is famous for it’s beautiful preserved nature (it’s one of the World Natural Heritage sites). There’s Mt.Hall, the largest mountain in South Korea located in the center of Jeju island. This mountain’s eruption created Jeju two million years ago and many other small mountains called Oreums were formed as well. Each mountain has names that store arcane stories and legends, so you might want to check them out before climbing them. The weather is usually very windy here because of the island’s location. Sometimes the wind is strong enough to knock off green houses and palm trees!
